Random thoughts from a random mind

I don't suffer from randomness… I, obviously, quite enjoy it!!

Pointless…

For those of you who know and those who don’t, ‘Pointless‘ is a brilliant BBC TV programme on weekdays at 5:15.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SzsM7BCbkQ     Check out the round where answers were needed to say the ‘Things That Rick Astley Is ‘Never Gonna’ Do…’

When I first watched ‘Pointless’ I have to admit that I thought the programme was, indeed, pointless.

Obviously I don’t think that way now. The first episode left me feeling confused as to why people had to find the most obscure answer in order to gain the ‘least points.’  It was an idea that I’d thought wouldn’t catch on. How stupid was I because since it has started I don’t think I’ve missed a single episode and everyone I know (well nearly everyone) watches it too.

I’d go even further to say that I even watch the repeated episodes every day. Is that sad?

Well some may say it is but I’d disagree, of course. So what makes me tune in so often? Is it the fact that I can compete with my partner by finding the most obscure answer? Or is it because I think Alexander Armstrong is the perfect host? Maybe it’s Richard Osman that keeps me tuning in.

I will tell you, then, seeing as you’re interested (I’m assuming here) the reason is all three.

I watch Pointless because I like to be the one with the most pointless knowledge, (never has there been a programme so suited to me and my knowledge) I love the way Xander acts and speaks (He’s great in the Direct Line adverts with Chris Addison, both  fantastic comedians)  and I love the friendly banter between him and Richard Osman, another very funny guy.  www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kf8n53wlWJ4

I love the programme so much that I get withdrawal symptoms when it’s off air.

Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman are Pointless celebrities (In the best possible way.)

Do you believe Astrology and your Zodiac Sign?

What Sign are You?

The reason I ask is because for years I have wondered how on earth can everyone born between certain dates in the calendar, have the same characteristics? Well the more I think of it, the more I tend to believe it.

Take myself for instance, I am a Libran which means that I was born between 24th September and the 23rd of October. (The 18th October if anyone’s interested. Also take note, as one of my traits is vanity you can understand why I chose to show the next item.)

I wouldn’t disagree with any of the qualities shown in the poster because most of us wants to look good in others’ eyes.  Don’t we?  Well apparently my sign does.

In fact a Libran’s strengths are: Diplomacy, I can be very diplomatic, gracefulness, (Ha, me graceful? I don’t think so. If you could see me get out of the car…), ‘Peacefulness’- wrong again, ‘Idealistic’- I’m not sure and ‘Hospitable’ – I guess I can be.

Those were supposed to be strengths so let’s look at a Libran’s weaknesses:- ‘Superficiality’- I don’t think I am superficial, – ‘Vanity’- I might be a little vain. ‘Indecisiveness’- I’ll let you know when I’ve made my mind up about that one and last but not least is ‘Unreliability’- I totally disagree with that. If you knew me, you’d know that I was one of the most reliable people you would ever want to meet.

I know what I’m like as a Libran but are all Librans the same? You tell me. I can list many famous Librans who have similar traits as me:

Dawn French, (My favourite) actress and comedienne  from the West Country, just like me.

Bob Geldof, (singer and I love singing).

Cliff Richard (singer),

Martina Navratilova- former tennis champ-I love tennis,

Catherine Zeta Jones-actress-(me a Drama Queen)

I could go on but I’m sure you get the picture.

Here’s something for you. I am doing a survey, (just for me you understand).

What I would like to know is firstly, your sign (whether you believe in it or not, please. I’d do the same for you if you asked), and if you have the characteristics of that sign.

That’s all there is to it apart from telling you my stars for today… according to Mystic Meg…

Strict Saturn meets generous Jupiter and this is your day to turn good intentions into action, especially with financial plans and career moves.

It changes the way you see your future.

Later, the moon promises partners will be close again.

Single? Your dream date has a great singing voice.

Looks promising then.
